Dried deer hide, what can I do with it?
« on: December 24, 2008, 01:24:26 PM »

I have a deer hide that has been stretched and air dried by being hung on a piece of plywood. Fur down and has not been salted or anything, just stretched and left. Can I still tan it? I am not concerned with keeping the fur on, I just would like see the hide be used and not wasted. Any help would be appreciated.

You can tan it for leather.  If you tried to tan it hair-on the hair would fall out.
