HI I lost my book and was wondering if you could provide me the mixing rates for a large coon hide? Also how much salt and dawn should I mix with a gallon of water for degreasing, Thanks

Here is the formula:
¼ cup tanning crystals
½ cup salt (FINE GRAIN)
1 cup warm water
1 cup baking flour
Raccoon, Beaver, & Muskrat Hides
These hides will be the hardest to tan. Like a sheep hide they will have to
be washed and degreased after fleshing. Soak the hide in the soap and water mixture
for 24 hours then tack it out and flesh it. Make sure you flesh the neck and between
the ears. This is the thickest part of the hide. Wash the hide a second time and re-tack
the hide out. Use the same tanning formula as used on the Coyote and Fox.
Depending on the size of the hide it will take 1/4 - 3/4 of a cup of oil. After the hide
has been oiled for about 2 hours, go back and oil the neck area. This will take about
half the amount of oil used on the entire hide. This part of the hide may need to be
sanded to soften it.
